If you think it means checking the heater and air conditioner to make sure they both turn on okay, then you need an introductory course in your vehicle’s heating and cooling systems.

The purpose of the cooling system of your car is to keep the engine cool — not you. If your cooling system doesn’t work properly, then your engine will overheat, and it won’t operate at its optimum efficiency. Or, worse yet, your engine will just quit.
